Talking during masses
Listening to God’s Word: In Nehemiah 8:3, it is noted that "all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law." This emphasises the importance of giving undivided attention to the reading of Scripture and the preaching of God's Word, suggesting that talking during the service would distract from the focus on God's message.
Respect for Others: Ephesians 4:29 teaches, "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." Talking during Mass, especially if it is not related to worship, could be seen as inconsiderate to others who are there to pray and listen to the Word.
The Bible encourages reverence, focus on God’s Word, and respect for others, implying that talking during worship should be avoided to maintain the sanctity and order of the service.
